Table of Cross-section Planes
SettingDescription
Elem Number of the element
Type Type of the structural element
Begin Keyword of the plane definition for the element begin
  • Norm: Cross-section is normal to the element axis
  • Vert: Cross-section is vertical (parallel to the global Y-axis and local z-axis)
  • Horiz: Cross-section is horizontal (parallel to the global XZ plane)
  • Angle: Cross-section plane is user defined (sine of the deviation angles from normal)
SinXoY Only in case if "Angle" definition: Sine of the angle between the local y axis and the y axis of the cross-section at element begin
SinXoZ Only in case if "Angle" definition: Sine of the angle between the local z axis and the z axis of the cross-section at element begin
dBeta Only in case if "Angle" definition: Rotation of the principal axes of the cross-section  with respect to those of the element (at element begin)
SinXoY Only in case if "Angle" definition: Sine of the angle between the local y axis and the y axis of the cross-section at element end
SinXoZ Only in case if "Angle" definition: Sine of the angle between the local z axis and the z axis of the cross-section at element end
dBeta Only in case if "Angle" definition: Rotation of the principal axes of the cross-section  with respect to those of the element (at element end)
Note: The definition of this rotation has no influence in the analysis. It has been implemented for getting the exact geometry of pre-fabricated segments for surveying calculations in RmCast. Note that the angles defined with SinXoY and SinXoZ refer to the local axes prior to applying any rotation dBeta.
